Author Biography

Michael O. Begun, University of Portsmouth

Michael O. Begun is an Academic Skills Tutor in the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries at the University of Portsmouth. He is an Advance HE Fellow (FHEA) who has taught for over a decade in higher education, mostly in his native United States, where he completed a PhD in Philosophy. He is currently interested in the theoretical significance of academic conventions for a cross-culturally informed critical philosophy of education. In terms of practice, his main concern lies with how learning developers can better support culturally diverse students and academic staff to better understand the challenges, opportunities, and impact of their scholarly practices.
